Source of Real Happiness

It was late evening. A boy of 12 was looking for something on the floor of his garden using the light of the lantern kept on a nearby rock. A young man was passing by. Seeing the boy searching something, he inquired from the boy. The boy told him that he was looking for his lost key. The man felt that he should help the boy in finding the key and hence got engaged in looking for the lost key on the floor of garden. Soon, a couple saw these two people searching the floor and they also decided to lend help in finding the key. Similarly, four other people joined in the search for the key. Then, an old lady was passing from nearby when she saw all these people searching the floor. She asked what were they doing. The boy replied that they all were helping him to find the lost key. The old lady asked the boy, "Where did you lose the key? ". The boy said, "The key was lost in the dark room of my house, but since lantern was here, hence I started searching for the key in the garden itself".  So, will the boy ever find the key?
For finding the right thing, it is also important to look at the right place.
Here 'key' symbolizes 'happiness', the 'lantern lit garden' is the 'gleaming and lighted up outside world' and the 'dark room' symbolizes our 'inner self'.  While the lantern world has all fascinations and facades to attract our attention, it does not contain the key of happiness. People all over the world are carried away by this brightness and lighting. The key of happiness lies deep within our inner self but since we have not been there for long, since we have lost touch with it, since we chose to follow the lighted external world, the inner self appears dark and scary. But once we decide to abandon our fear of this dark inner room, we can enlighten up the awareness and find the key of happiness forever.
